IPPNWC Internship Program: Applications Open!

International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War Canada (IPPNWC) is seeking individuals who are passionate about disarmament, sustainability, and global health, to join the team as interns!

As an intern you will be helping with various aspects of IPPNWC work, facilitating activities that are designed to teach, research and address the health consequences of violence, nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, the health consequences associated with energy resources and armed conflict, methods of nonviolent conflict resolution, and the promotion of social justice in a sustainable world.

For this internship program, you will be able to select your interest in joining the IPPNWC intern team for 12- or 6-months, depending on your availability. Please ensure to carefully select your answer for the section inquiring about your intended length of internship.

This year there are 8 available internship positions, allowing you to choose which part of the IPPNWC organization you want to work with. Please read about the available internship positions here and rank your choices in your application. 

As an intern, you will gain:

  • 20+ hours of educational training on disarmament, nuclear, health, and sustainability

  • Work experience with a Nobel Peace Prize Affiliate and an internationally recognized organization

  • Ability to contribute new project ideas and develop new initiatives

  • Long-term mentorshipPotential of being published in the IPPNWC The Turning Tide Publication

  • Recommendation letter 

  • Certificates of completion of IPPNWC youth leader training

This program is free of cost and includes an educational training certificate program certificate and with the potential to gain academic credit through your institution. All positions are unpaid/ no stipends are offered at this time.
