Nova Scotia's Unexpected Repeal of its Nuclear Power Prohibition

Nancy Covington, IPPNWC Board Member, recently presented to the Halifax Ecology Action Centre regarding the Nova Scotia government's unexpected repeal of its nuclear power prohibition. This change occurred swiftly during modifications to the Energy Act, catching the public off guard, showcasing the lack of public awareness and concern about the potential rollback of the province's ban on uranium mining and exploration. As a result, the Ecology Action Centre plans to dedicate a staff member to their energy initiatives and form an action group, including Susan O’Donnell, to develop an awareness campaign in the fall.
